A Word from Pastor Keith –
The subject on everyone’s lips and minds is the coronavirus. “The possibility of Western Australia being hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak is a matter of “when, not if”, according to Australian Medical Association WA president Andrew Miller, who has warned tens of thousands of people in Perth alone could require hospitalisation.” As Christians what should be our mindset, our concerns on such a matter? Firstly, let us remember we live in a fallen world, since sin entered through Adam and Eve’s disobedience to God, death and sickness have become our companions. But when the Second Adam came, Jesus Christ, we now no longer are under the ‘sting of death or the grave’. Does that mean Christians are immune from illness? No, but we are not to live in fear of such things nor their consequences upon us. We also, by prayer, can intercede for any who may fall ill from any such sickness and pray the prayer of faith for such. At this time as the world is being gripped by fear and anxiety, a massive door of opportunity has been opened for you and I to share our hope, faith, trust and peace in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour at such a time as this. Let us encourage each other, to live for Jesus Christ each day, especially now, no matter what rises up before us. Remember, Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
