From the Pastor’s Desk
Today, we see many living like the prophets of Baal instead of the followers of the Lord God Almighty, when we try to live our lives, running in a frenzy, trying to fix our problems, not stopping enough to call on the power of God. Many churches today, like that of Laodicea, do not depend on the Holy Spirit in how we should live and make our decisions. Simply having gifted speakers, services that are short and engaging, entertainment, nice buildings, and whatever else we add to the mix does not make a “good” or “successful” church. God intended for His precious Bride – the Church – to be much more than this. Against what is popularly promoted, God is not interested in numbers. He cares most about the faithfulness, not the size, of His Bride. He cares about whether His people love Him and also love those within His precious family. Neither I nor you can talk people into falling in love with Christ. I cannot make someone accept the gift of grace. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. Again, I say, we are living in a time of sifting in the Church of Jesus Christ world-wide. Not just because of Covid 19 either. The judgment of God is coming soon upon our world and it was the Apostle Peter who warned us, 1 Pe 4:17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? When one is truly born again, when one has received the grace of Jesus Christ and been forgiven for their sins. They need no added enticements or begging to worship, to give, or to live for He who died for them and has saved them. Instead, like that of the Apostle Paul, they are filled with and driven with by a passion and thankful heart, to do all that their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ asks of them. It’s as simple as that!
