Pastor’s Pen – Tom Allen, a famous preacher in Scotland came to know Jesus Christ whilst he heard a soldier singing – “Were you there when they crucified my Lord?” He said it was neither the song nor the soldier’s voice, but the spirit in which the soldier sang – something about his manner, something about his sincerity of expression – that convicted Allen of his sinful life and turned him to Jesus Christ. Jesus said, You are the light of the world…Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven – Matthew 5:14,16. Our faith becomes stronger as we share it; a growing faith is a sharing faith. I pray for those who you know need Jesus Christ in their lives, and ask God to help you be a witness to them – by the life you live and the words you speak!

Helen’s Heart – Fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God – Isaiah 41:10 Corrie Ten Boom; who with her family hid Jews from the Nazis. She was imprisoned in Ravensbruck (a concentration camp) and yet travelled the world afterwards telling her story of forgiveness and joy. Til the age of 85 (she had not a permanent home) – friends provided her with a lovely house in California. Her friends exclaimed how good God had been to give her this beautiful home. To which she replied, “God was good to me in Ravensbruck, too.” Most of us will never experience the horror Corrie faced but we can always depend on God’s promise, Fear not for I am with you.
